As a beauty editor I’ve tried so many nail salons over the years but I always end up disappointed. You just want to scream when the perfect manicure you paid for chips the next day. Then I heard about Olive & June located in the famous 90210 zip code. It cost a little more but it’s well worth the money.
As you walk in the door you see hanging flowers, on the wall every nail polish color you could imagine with brands such as Deborah Lippmann and Essie. There’s also magazine racks with several titles to choose from to keep you busy while you’re waiting. The hardest part is choosing from the 350 nail polish colors available.
Wall Street turned salon owner Sarah Gibson Tuttle is the founder of the salon which opened August 21, 2013 at 430 North Canon Drive in Beverly Hills. You can also visit them in Pasadena and Santa Monica. I caught up with Sarah to ask her a few questions and get a little nail inspo.
What inspired you to open Olive & June?
“I truly wanted to create a new kind of neighborhood nail salon, where clients could enjoy their mani-pedi time and time again. All of the bumps in the road have really pushed us to learn more and more about the business, which has in turn made our business stronger.”
Services you offer?
“Our menu includes natural nail services, organic options, gels and nail art. We truly try to cater to every woman who loves getting their nails done.”
What do you like most about working at the salon?
“I really enjoy the Olive & June community. The women I have met along the way – from our manicurists to our team in house to our clients – have taught me so much about myself, about business, about life! I feel lucky every day that this is my job”.
Celebrities you’ve not worked with yet that you’re dying to work with?
“We are lucky to have an amazing clientele of talented people across many industries. I would love to see Amal Clooney in the salon! Can you even imagine how chic her manis must be?
Any beauty tips?
“Cuticle oil is a manicure’s best friend. Apply daily!”
Best selling products?

Your favorite nail polish color?
“It is always changing, but I always love Field Fox by CND. I also am really into Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around by OPI.”
