There’s a new trend that takes dressing like your favorite star to a whole new level and it’s all done in the name of charity. Celebrities are cleaning out their closets and donating part of their wardrobe to their favorite cause. Fans are then given an opportunity to buy these items.
Eileen Davidson (Ashely Abbott, The Young and the Restless; ex-Krisen DiMera, Days of Our Lives ; The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) collaborated with Lisa Graystone designer and owner of the Curated Closet to donate her jewelry and dresses previously worn on the red carpet and on-screen to No Kid Hungry.
I reached out to Eileen and this is what she had to say about the campaign. “I’m happy to discuss the dress sales with you,” said Eileen. “We raised over $4,000 for No Kid Hungry, a charity I’ve been supporting for years. I had all of these great clothes from years of collecting vintage and various red carpet events, and I was trying to think of something to do with them besides just give them away. I had bought some pieces from Lisa Greystone online years ago and thought of her, that maybe she could help me sell them and raise money for No Kid Hungry. I’m so excited to have been able to raise money for this great charity in such a fun way.”
“Turning Eileen’s fashion’s past into the future success of children by providing meals was a beautiful thing to be a part of,” explained Lisa. “No Kid Hungry provides up to 100 meals for every $10. Eileen’s fans also had a unique opportunity to shop her closet and receive an autographed head shot with each purchase. A style win for everyone.”
It appears that other celebrities have taken Eileen’s lead by decluttering their closets for a great cause. We recently spotted designer threads at Celebrity Owned on eBay. Some listings state that the proceeds go to charity while others do not.
The RealReal also sell’s clothes on consignment for some very famous clients for charity. Helping others pay it forward for good cause.
